Daniel and Florence in the desert outside Dubai

The last few weeks have been busy for Impact Zambia!  Daniel and Florence Mayapi traveled to Dubai to meet with my cousin and his wife in search of possible partnerships for New Life Tabernacle and Impact Zambia.  I joined them in the meetings, worked jointly on next year’s plan, and helped prepare their Canadian visa applications.  It was quite an experience to learn more from Dubai and the community there. On Friday morning we worshiped with the local congregation in a warehouse, with no visible signs of it being a church on the outside.  It was a powerful experience. It felt as if we were underground, praying and singing upwards through the city.  Please pray for the Christians in countries where freedom of religion is a challenge.

From Dubai, Daniel and Florence traveled to Nyahururu in Kenya, close to the equator, where they participated in the iTeams African summit, hosted by Kenya Pace.  iTeams Canada CEO Neil Ostrander, and Program specialist Adam Faber also attended, along with leaders of the African Impact programs.

The last objective of the tour was to have Daniel and Florence’s biometrics taken for their Canadian visa applications.  The process recently changed, and now anyone who wants to get a visa to Canada has to physically travel to one of the visa application centres set up for this service. For Zambia, their choice is Tanzania, Kenya, Zimbabwe or South Africa….After some hiccups, the fingerprinting was done and pictures taken, and they could return to Zambia.  Now we are praying for the successful issue of their visas so that we can schedule their planned visit in Jan/Feb 2019.

Also keep an eye out for the fundraising activities towards the Impact Zambia Training Centre in November and December: Dinner and live auction on Nov 10th, 6pm in Acton, Global Giving Mall and silent/Facebook auction on Nov 17th in Goderich, and possibly a “Paint night” in Acton/Georgetown on Dec 8th. Please support and share these opportunities with your friends.

In Christ
